About Us
PPN has structured a benefit that the PPN network can utilise to reach out and aid children in the form of a consultation and pair of clear single vision spectacles.
-
WHAT WE WANT TO ACHEIVE:
- To reach as many children as possible in previously disadvantaged areas.
- To create and build beneficial relationships with schools and assist them on an ongoing basis with the screening of new Grade 1 pupils during the intake period at the beginning of each year.
- To provide and deliver FREE basic quality optical care to identified beneficiaries without compromising the professional standards.
- To empower the next generation with the gift of sight.
-
HOW WE WANT TO ACHEIVE IT:
- In partnership with optometrists in the PDA (previously disadvantaged areas), we will endeavour to provide excellent service in a caring environment together with quality eye care to all children in schools classified by the national Department of Education as being within quintile 1, 2 and 3.
- Providers ensure the documents are completed to provide us with the most up to date contact information for the children and the school.
- This ensures that the school, parents and children as well as the network provider is involved in the process to assist when it is time for replacement spectacles.

Contact Us
The Masibonisane campaign is an initiative by PPN that provides previously disadvantaged children in South Africa access to the services of an Optometrist.
The optometrist evaluates and identifies any special needs of a child to prevent the child from being disadvantaged or hindered in their academic progress due to undiagnosed/untreated eye problems.
